Biography

Heather Gilbert, OT, OTD, OTR is a Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University. Her clinical areas of expertise include forensic mental health and community-based services for people living with chronic mental illnesses and/or acquired brain injuries. She has held a number of leadership roles where she was responsible for both program and staff development, and is passionate about promoting the leadership strengths of occupational therapy practitioners. Her additional OT-related interests include emerging practice, group-based intervention, advocating for OT practitioners to better address occupations that often cause clinician discomfort (substance use, sexual intimacy, etc.), and legislative advocacy.
