Level II Fieldwork

Occupational Therapy students doing fieldwork at ski resort

Level II fieldwork is an essential part of occupational therapy education designed to develop clinical and ethical reasoning, reflective practice, and professional competence as a generalist, entry-level occupational therapy practitioner. Level II fieldwork provides opportunities to carry out professional responsibilities with supervision and role modeling provided by fieldwork educators.

Level II fieldwork is a minimum of 24 weeks full-time, and takes place in a variety of settings and areas of practice with clients across the lifespan. Level II fieldwork focuses on occupational therapy service provision, applying occupation and evidence based practices, and learning about administrative and management skills.

Tufts' Academic Fieldwork Coordinator arranges Level II fieldwork placements in collaboration with the fieldwork team, faculty, students, and site fieldwork educators/coordinators.
