Biography

Lawrence is a population geneticist whose research concerns the rate at which species adapt in response to environmental changes. His interests include host-pathogen evolution, inference of adaptation rates from genomic data, eco-evolutionary modeling, and constraints on adaptation. He is also deeply interested in how students learn evolutionary concepts and the creation of inclusive classrooms.
