Prepare for Graduation (Undergraduate)
Getting ready to graduate? The Biology Department requires all undergraduate students to complete a degree review to ensure they’ve met their major requirements before submitting materials to Student Services. Follow the steps below to complete your graduation packet accurately and on time.
Major Checklists for Biology Students
Graduation Steps
1. Review your degree progress
Download or your Student Degree Audit from SIS (see instructions here). This will help you and your advisor confirm what requirements you’ve completed.
2. Complete your concentration checklist
Please fill out your major checklist (see links above) electronically. Do not lock the PDF.
- For courses that you are taking in the current semester but have not completed, please write "IP" (in progress) for the grade.
- For courses you plan on taking next semester before you graduate, write the semester name (e.g. "Spring 2027") and leave Grade and Credit blank.
- If you received AP credit and are using that towards a course, write the name of the course (e.g. "AP Biology") under Semester/Year and "AP" for Grade and Credit.
3. Have your advisor review and sign your checklist
Send the following to your advisor, via email:
- Your degree audit
- Your unofficial transcript
- Your completed checklist
b) Ask your advisor to review and electronically sign the checklist form. You may request a meeting to do this, or you may have your advisor review and sign the form via email.
4. Submit your checklist and transcript to BiologyGraduation@tufts.edu
Email your signed checklist + unofficial transcript to biologygraduation@tufts.edu. Do not lock the PDF.
5. Department review
The department will review your materials and email you the fully signed graduation packet once approved. This usually takes 2-3 business days, so be sure to submit your checklist for review well ahead of graduation packet submission deadlines. Once approved, the checklist will be signed by the department and returned to you via email.
6. Submit to Student Services
Submit your completed packet to Student Services electronically before the posted deadline (see here for details). Students are responsible for timely submission.
