BA in Greek & Latin

Greek and Latin is a flexible, interdisciplinary program introducing students to the literature, history, and material culture of the Greeks and Romans, along with other related civilizations.  It is a good choice for students considering graduate work in classics, but it is also a strong liberal arts foundation for any student.  Most work is done in Greek and Latin language, supplemented with courses given in English.

Program Requirements and Policies

  • 10 courses are required to complete the major.
  • No major course may be taken pass/fail. 

Course Requirements

  • Six courses in Greek and Latin above the intermediate level, of which four must be at the 100-level.
  • Four other courses offered by the department.
