Summer Music at Tufts includes a two weeks summer music program and a one week classic rock band.
Community Music Summer Program
The Tufts Community Music Summer program is for kids ages 7-12. Students in the program sing, drum, take instrument lessons and do Music and Movement activities, as well as group time and games. Lunch in the Tufts dining hall is included.
Tufts Summer Music is part of the Tufts Community Music Program and the Department of Music. Tuition for the program is $1050 - limited scholarships are available. The program will run from 9am to 3:30 pm each day. There is the option to stay later for an additional fee.
The program is now accepting applications for our two weeks program July 25 – August 5, 2022.
The faculty will include Jerry Bussiere, Lauren Caso, Yank'l Garcia, Phill Grannan, Jamie Kirsch, Holly Stumpf, Edie Auner, and Tufts student musicians. Learn more about the instructors.

Classic Rock Band
Instructor: Paul Lehrman
Mon-Fri, August 1-5, 10-11:30 am, 1-2:30 pm
Ages 14 and up (adults welcome).
An intensive weeklong workshop for intermediate and advanced players in classic rock and roll. We will learn music by groups like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Allman Brothers Band, the Grateful Dead, the Band, the Byrds, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, culminating in a public performance on August 5. Guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals, and horns welcome. Limited to 8 students. Ability to read charts required.
