Lilly Music Library
The Ruth Lilly Music Library is a branch of Tisch Library located in the lower level of the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center. The Library holds ca. 20,000 scores of all types – performance parts, critical study, even facsimiles of important historic compositions. It is also the main repository for Tufts' research resources about music – ca. 18,000 books on musical topics (from histories, to biographies, to studies of genres, instruments, other world cultures, etc.) and ca. 100 current periodical subscriptions (both in print & electronic).
The most significant component of the Lilly Library's collections are its sound recordings: ca. 20,000 CDs and ca. 5,000 LPs, as well as several million streaming audio files offered through our subscriptions to multiple music databases. Music of all styles from all historical periods and from all around the globe are represented! The library also has listening stations, high-density compressible stacks, and comfortable study areas open to all students.
The important Frédéric Louis Ritter Collection is a special collection associated with the Lilly Library. It is housed in Tisch Library and available for research and study via appointment.
All members of the Tufts community are welcome to borrow materials from the Lilly Library!
