Edith Auner
Coordinator of Applied Music and Director of Outreach Activities

Edith Auner

Edith Lowe Auner, pianist, is the Coordinator of Applied Music and Director of Outreach Activities at Tufts University. She holds an M.M. in Piano Performance, New England Conservatory of Music, and a B.A. from Colorado College. Ms. Auner performs as a soloist and chamber musician. She was the founding director of the Stony Brook Pre-College and Community Music Programs, 1997-2006. Since her appointment to the Tufts music department in 2006, Auner has developed community music programs for students ranging 2-18 years old, has started programs for adults including an Adult Chamber Music Workshop, and has developed outreach programs for Tufts music students to work with Somerville public school music students. In 2013, Auner launched the Tufts Youth Philharmonic.

Julia Cavallaro
Interim Administrative Coordinator

Julia Cavallaro

Julia Cavallaro is currently acting as Administrative Coordinator for the Tufts University Department of Music, having previously served in that role from 2015–2018. As an administrator, she strives to provide musical education at the highest level for students of many ages and diverse backgrounds, and to support the study of musical cultures from around the globe. She is also a freelance musician, composer, and graphic designer. As an opera singer and choral artist, she has performed with leading ensembles in the US, including the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Early Music Festival, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Boston Opera Collaborative, and New Camerata Opera. She has toured internationally with the choirs of Trinity Church in the City of Boston, singing in residence at Westminster Abbey and the Cathedrals of Salisbury, Wells, and Winchester. Julia received her bachelor's degree in music from Harvard College and master's degree in vocal performance from Boston University. Prior to Tufts, she worked for Harvard University and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. She is currently a support specialist for Artusi, an online interactive music theory platform. Holly Druckman
Office Assistant

Holly Druckman

Holly Druckman is the Office Assistant at the Tufts University Department of Music. She is a conductor, specializing in early and contemporary choral repertoire; she is the founder and artistic director of Carduus, and the music director of the Renaissance choir Vox Lucens. Upcoming highlights include conducting engagements with the Seraphim Singers, NEC Concert Choir, and performances of new music for choir by Stratis Minakakis and Marti Epstein, as well as regular season performances with Vox Lucens and Carduus. Recent projects include performances of Tyler Bouque's Canto XIII for cello and twelve solo voices (written for Carduus), and Jacob Druckman's Dark Upon the Harp, as well as conducting engagements with Cappella Clausura, the Commonwealth Chorale, Beneficia Lucis, and Saint Stephen’s Choir in Providence. Holly received her MM in Choral Conducting and Historical Musicology from the New England Conservatory, and her BA from Columbia University. When she isn't in rehearsal, studying a score, helping you book a practice room, or responding to your emails: Holly is an avid reader and swimmer, and always up for a conversation about Renaissance polyphony, coffee, or cats.

Anna Griffis
Coordinator of Public Relations and Tufts Music Box Office

Anna Griffis

Anna Griffis is the Coordinator of Public Relations and Box Office for the Music Department. She oversees a staff of publicity assistants and all public relations and box office functions at Granoff, and assists in coordinating, managing, and executing the logistics for all events, performances, and other activities. In addition to her work at Tufts, Anna is an active freelance violist playing in and around Boston. She studied performance at Lawrence University, the Hartt School, the Tanglewood Music Center, and Boston University, where she also worked in publications, communications, and production. Jeffrey Rawitsch
Manager, Granoff Music Center

Jeffrey Rawitsch

Jeffrey Rawitsch has served as the Granoff Music Center Manager since July 2009. He oversees general building maintenance and upkeep, equipment, security monitors, ensemble set-up crews, concert/event production and staffing, rentals, and box office. Users looking to book the performance spaces in the music center are welcome to contact him with questions regarding availability and rental fees. Jeff has served in various capacities in the department since he was a student himself, starting in the fall of 2000, and he earned a B.A. (2004) and M.A. (2009) in Child Development from Tufts. Outside of his official duties for Tufts Music, Jeff sings in the Tufts Concert Choir and participates in Tufts Music family concerts and the Community Music Summer Program for elementary school students. He can also be seen at department special events serenading departing staff and student employees with song parodies in their honor.
