Edith Auner
Coordinator of Applied Music and Director of Outreach Activities

Edith Auner

Edith Lowe Auner, pianist, is the Coordinator of Applied Music and Director of Outreach Activities at Tufts University. She holds an M.M. in Piano Performance, New England Conservatory of Music, and a B.A. from Colorado College. Ms. Auner performs as a soloist and chamber musician. She was the founding director of the Stony Brook Pre-College and Community Music Programs, 1997-2006. Since her appointment to the Tufts music department in 2006, Auner has developed community music programs for students ranging 2-18 years old, has started programs for adults including an Adult Chamber Music Workshop, and has developed outreach programs for Tufts music students to work with Somerville public school music students. In 2013, Auner launched the Tufts Youth Philharmonic.

Jimena Codina
Administrative Coordinator

Jimena Codina

Jimena Codina is the Administrative Coordinator at Tufts University Department of Music. She is a scholar and higher education/cultural administrator. She recently completed an M.A. in Latin American Studies at Tulane University and, while pursuing her degree at Tulane, she built upon her professional foundation, serving as an administrative assistant in the Roger Thayer Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Afterwards, she performed as the Administrative Secretary of the Political Science Department at Tulane University. Consistent with her academic background and professional experience, Codina is interested in bridging the worlds of higher education, and social and cultural institutions. Through her role as a liaison between the administration and coordination of different academic and cultural programs and organizations, she aims to enhance performance and fluid dialogue between them.

Melissa Weikart
Office Assistant

Melissa Weikart

Melissa Weikart is the Office Assistant at the Tufts University Department of Music. She is a vocalist, pianist, composer and educator based in Boston, MA. After graduating from Tufts in 2016 (B.A. Music and Spanish), she pursued a Master's degree in Contemporary Improvisation at New England Conservatory, where she studied with Carla Kihlstedt, Anthony Coleman, Dominique Eade, and Hankus Netsky. Melissa co-founded Students Advocating for Gender Equality at NEC, and was awarded an Entrepreneurial Musicianship grant to recompose the album Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys for an all-female ensemble of 17 musicians. In December 2017, she released her debut EP "Coffee" on HEC Tapes, and she is currently working on a full-length album. In addition to her career at Tufts, Melissa teaches Musicianship at the Handel and Haydn Society Vocal Arts Program and is an active performer in and around Boston.

Anna Griffis
Coordinator of Public Relations and Tufts Music Box Office

Anna Griffis

Anna Griffis is the Coordinator of Public Relations and Box Office for the Music Department. She oversees a staff of publicity assistants and all public relations and box office functions at Granoff, and assists in coordinating, managing, and executing the logistics for all events, performances, and other activities. In addition to her work at Tufts, Anna is an active freelance violist playing in and around Boston. She studied performance at Lawrence University, the Hartt School, the Tanglewood Music Center, and Boston University, where she also worked in publications, communications, and production. Jeffrey Rawitsch
Manager, Granoff Music Center

Jeffrey Rawitsch

Jeffrey Rawitsch has served as the Granoff Music Center Manager since July 2009. He oversees general building maintenance and upkeep, equipment, security monitors, ensemble set-up crews, concert/event production and staffing, rentals, and box office. Users looking to book the performance spaces in the music center are welcome to contact him with questions regarding availability and rental fees. Jeff has served in various capacities in the department since he was a student himself, starting in the fall of 2000, and he earned a B.A. (2004) and M.A. (2009) in Child Development from Tufts. Outside of his official duties for Tufts Music, Jeff sings in the Tufts Concert Choir and participates in Tufts Music family concerts and the Community Music Summer Program for elementary school students. He can also be seen at department special events serenading departing staff and student employees with song parodies in their honor.
