Biography
Mr. Drummond has had the good fortune to study with and perform under the direction of many outstanding Javanese musicians, both in the United States and Indonesia. As a Fulbright Scholar, he resided for over seven years in Surakarta, Central Java under the auspices of the Indonesian National College of the Arts. In addition to teaching Javanese Gamelan at Tufts, he is the Artistic Director of Gamelan Laras Tentrem, a charter member of the gamelan ensemble Sukar Maju Malah Mundur, and maintains the largest collection of Javanese gamelan notation online.
